About ALICE Arts

ALICE Arts is the professional producing arm of ALICE: Arts and Literacy in Children's Education, celebrating the cultural diversity of the San Francisco Bay Area by presenting a broad range of public performances, gallery exhibitions, events and media. ALICE Arts is committed to " telling the story" of those who live on the margins of our society.

Artistic Directors

Helen Stoltzfus and Albert Greenberg are co-artistic directors of ALICE Arts. They have been collaborating on original works of theatre for over 22 years. Prior to ALICE, they were co-artistic directors of San Francisco's internationally acclaimed A Traveling Jewish Theatre. Their plays have been performed worldwide, from the Los Angeles Theatre Festival to the Kampnagel Hamburg Sommer Festival, and from Prague to Appalachia.

ALICE began as a grassroots arts education program. ALICE is an acronym for Arts and Literacy in Children's Education. You can learn more about our education program on the "Education" link.

ALICE Arts is not associated with the former Alice Arts Center, in Oakland, which changed its name to the Malonga Casquelourd Arts Center in 2004.
